Quick Start: Your First 5 Minutes
Set up your first account, record a transaction, and get an overview of the dashboard in under 5 minutes.
Create your first account
An account represents anywhere you hold money — a bank account, cash wallet, credit card, or savings pot. Every transaction you record belongs to an account.
Tap Accounts in the navigation, then tap the + Add account button. Give it a name (e.g. "Main Checking"), choose the account type, set your currency, and enter the current balance as your Opening balance.
Hit Save. Your account is ready.
Tip: Start with just one or two accounts. You can always add more later. The opening balance should reflect what the account holds right now.
Record your first transaction
Tap the + Add button (bottom centre on mobile, top of the sidebar on desktop). This opens the Add Transaction sheet.
Choose a type: Expense for money going out, Income for money coming in, or Transfer to move money between your own accounts.
Enter the amount using the numeric keypad, pick a category, select the account, and tap Save. That's it — your balance updates instantly.
Tip: The app remembers your last-used account and defaults to today's date, so most transactions take just 3 taps.
Explore your dashboard
Head to Dashboard. You'll see your net worth at a glance, a chart showing how it changes over time, your income vs. expenses for the selected period, and a breakdown of spending by category.
Use the date picker in the top-right to switch between This month, Last month, Last 3 months, or a custom range. All numbers update instantly.
You're set up
That's the core loop: accounts hold your money, transactions move it around, the dashboard shows the picture. Everything else in the app (budgets, goals, reports) builds on top of this foundation.
Next, try adding a few more transactions from the past week to see your spending patterns take shape.
